About Me

Thank you for visiting my site!  I recently graduated from a Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in the United States.  After interning and then working at a site specific for those with addiction and co-occurring disorders, I was able to work with both individuals and groups utilizing mainly DBT, CBT, and MI methods of counseling. I am now working full time at an agency where I work with those battling Substance Use Disorders as well as those working with other mental illnesses; it’s great exposure.

I began this blog as a way to talk about my experiences in the field and share ideas specifically related to group therapy as well as various techniques and skills.  In such a collaborative field, it is important to add ideas to what is currently being done to help us move forward!

Enjoy reading!

P.S. Here’s a picture of my puppy (and first client)!

  1. Oh my God I am so happy I found your blog!!!!!!!! I am an intern too, almost done, three more months, I have been avoiding group because I feel inadequate but you have shown me the light!

  2. Was happy to find this blog since I am looking for ideas on how to liven up supportive intervention therapy at my work site. Clients get bored from the group therapy during the day, so will definitely try some of the ideas here to perk them up for supportive group in the evenings.

  3. Just came across your blog- thanks for sharing your thoughts.
